Imagine a warm summer’s evening, taking a seat in St David’s Restaurant at Bodelwyddan Castle Hotel in stunning North Wales and tucking into a smoked salmon starter with baby leaf salad, capers and lemon dressing. There’s a succulent gammon steak, dressed with a ratatouille of peppers, onion and tomatoes, butter roasted potatoes and pepper drizzle for your main. Perhaps you’ll finish with a light pineapple and mango compote.

Some guests love to fit in as many activities as they can, from swimming to archery, while others want nothing more than to relax with a cool drink and a good book on one of our terraces, or stroll gently through beautiful gardens and grounds during their Warner Leisure Hotel breaks. Our Food development Manager (featured in the photo!) is called David Grindrod and works closely with all our Head Chefs to cater for our guests individual needs as much as we can. Catering to the tastes and needs of our guests has always been the top priority of every member of the team. Providing the widest range of options for our guests means catering for those who are unable to include foods containing gluten in their diet. Celiac Disease is the most severe form of gluten intolerance, while some people are simply sensitive to gluten. Wheat, barley and rye all contain gluten which means there are many products out there that sufferers have to avoid from bread, pasta and cereals through to pies, sauces and biscuits (I never knew that!).
Going out for dinner when you’re intolerant to gluten can be a tricky business, which is why we’re doing what we can to make things easier! Why not take a weekend or short break at any one of our 13 properties and you’ll be able to choose from extensive gluten-free menus, devised especially by our highly experienced chefs (with love and care!). Forget about the worry of not knowing what you can have off the menu or what’s being served to you, just relax and enjoy your scrumptious meal. Our main and gluten free menus are reworked on a regular basis so you can be sure that each time you come there will be exciting dishes to try that make use of the freshest ingredients and where possible, produce from local suppliers.
For coffee drinkers, there’s more good news if you’re planning to enjoy one of our Warner Leisure summer breaks as you’ll be able to sample our newly launched exclusive coffee blend for a small fee – Arrossa. We believe that an after dinner coffee should help to bring about the perfect end to the perfect day. It’s the small things that count and after speaking to guests we’ve realised how important it is to serve a rich, full-bodied coffee.
