Does the thought of a still-warm, perfectly baked sourdough boule bring your taste buds to life? Do you get a rumble in your tummy when you think about breaking apart a crusty baguette over breakfast or tucking into a red velvet cupcake with afternoon tea? If you love bread and all things baked then we’ve got a treat in store, because master baker Paul Hollywood will be making his way to Nidd Hall Hotel in North Yorkshire this October.
The last time you’re likely to have seen Paul is during the Great British Bake Off television series, which aired on BBC 2 earlier this year. The son of a baker, Paul has worked at a number of top hotels in Britain and he’ll be letting guests tap into all his knowledge as part of a three-night Star Break. On Saturday afternoon he’ll be appearing for a 90-minute session in Nidd Hall’s late lounge, during which he’ll create his signature piece – the eight-strand plaited loaf – and answer any burning questions you have on baking.
If you’re not already baking at home then you’re sure to be fired up and itching to have a go at your own farmhouse loaves and bloomers after seeing Paul in action!
Along with the special appearance from Paul, we’ve crammed plenty more into this weekend cookery break on October 18, 19 and 20, from a bread tasting session and cupcake decorating demo, through to morning and afternoon kitchen sessions and a fun cookery quiz. Of course, Warner Leisure Hotels‘ breaks are about relaxing too! You’ll be able to do just that during pre-dinner cocktails and an evening show from comedian Denny Walters on the Friday, a live music performance from Forever in Blue Jeans on Saturday and a delicious hog roast and farewell party on the Sunday. It’s going to be a lot of fun!
