Hannah here again from the Warner Marketing Team. I’ve got some really exciting news to share with you. Here at Warner we are really proud of our team and where we work. Every year we do a vote which decides which Charity of the Year we will work with. We’ve chosen The Royal British Legion, for the second year running!
We have managed to raise over £125,00 in 2013 for the worthwhile charity and their Fundraising Manager is delighted. He sent me a letter which said:
Charles Byrne, Director of Fundraising said, “The Royal British Legion is extremely grateful for the support that Warner Leisure Hotels and its customers have shown and are thrilled that they have not only exceeded their fundraising target of £15,000 and raised £100,000 for us, but have also chosen to extend our partnership for another year . The money raised by Warner Leisure Hotels, will help us continue our vital work caring for, and protecting the interests and memory of the Serving and ex-Service community, and their families.”
It was great to hear that Warner Guest and Team fundraising efforts are so appreciated. We are really pleased to work with such a worthwhile charity.
Richard Bates, Managing Director here at Warner explained “Many of our guests are former Servicemen and women or have close family members working within our British Armed Forces. Many of our guests have lived through periods of conflict and so I am proud to support such a worthwhile charity for a second year. In 2013, Warner team and guests have gone above and beyond by raising £125k and I am delighted. This is a great achievement which will make a genuine difference to the meaningful charity and I will be encouraging all our 2,500 team members and guests to get behind the fund raising efforts for a second year.”
I also received a great update from one of our Hotels in Harrogate, Nidd Hall Hotel.
The General Manager, Rob Jenkins told me:
“The Restaurant team here at Nidd wanted to support our efforts to raise money for The Royal British Legion. We have done the usual Honour Walks, Warner “Walk a Mile” and really wanted to do something different. We decided that it is everyone’s pet hate going to the Car Wash and what better way to have the team doing a car wash without the guest having to move their car!
So far this month we have managed to raised £500 which I think is excellent.
This is an extract of an email sent to me by 2 of our loyal guests on their 61st visit to Nidd – “We went to see the two hard working young gentlemen earning money for your charity funds….they worked very hard and had excellent results. We’re sure their customers were well satisfied!”
I even managed to take a few photos of my team members Marcin & Jack thoroughly enjoying themselves at the same time as raising money and providing our guests with a service they value and are proud to support.”
