Warner Teams go to Dizzying Heights for the Royal British Legion

As a proud supporter of the Royal British Legion, here at Warner Leisure Hotels we encourage our teams to get involved in as many fundraising activities as possible….and haven’t they done us proud?! In the last two months alone our fabulous teams from Warner Hotels around the UK have raised a huge £5736 for this very deserving cause, a fantastic achievement for all those involved!

The challenges so far have definitely had an ‘at height’ theme to them with the Team from Nidd Hall kicking things off by climbing Mt. Olympus – the highest mountain in Cyprus which stands a whopping 1,952 metres tall! Despite a severe snow storm hampering their efforts forcing them to retreat on their first try; they battled on to reach the summit on the second day of their trek.

Next up to face an incredible mountain trek was the dedicated team from Bembridge Coast who climbed not one, not two, but three mountains in under 24 hours (23 hours and 58 minutes to be precise!) Again not all went to plan with the team having to take a 50 mile detour between Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike due to the closure of a main road. But they kept on pushing finally running the last 2 miles to finish the 3-peaks challenge within the time limit reaching the summit of Snowdon with just 2 minutes to spare…..amazing effort!

Last but by no means least we have team Bodelwyddan Castle who flew through the welsh countryside on the highest zipwire in Europe! Harnessed it in to what can only be described as a bright red cocoon the team sped down the wire at speeds of up to 100mph…what a ride! The team loved every minute of their high-flying challenge and are geared up for the next feat!

It goes without saying that our teams really pushed themselves out of their comfort zones to complete these challenges, but it was the support of all the people that kindly donated to the cause that really made these adventures worthwhile!

So on behalf of Warner Leisure Hotels we’d like to say a huge thank you to all those that donated!

But the question is….what challenge is next?!

Len Launches the Fabulous New Alvaston Hall!

With Len Goodman, the fabulous National Symphony Orchestra and a whole host of delighted guests…the re-launching of Alvaston Hall yesterday was undoubtedly a huge success!

Warner Leisure Hotels have invested a whopping £12.5million to transform many of the spaces in the hotel, including 113 new bedrooms, the sleek new Fountain and Stables Bars as well as the fabulous Cabaret restaurant – a dining area more likely to be found in Las Vegas than in the heart of Cheshire!

The festivities yesterday were kicked off with the official ribbon cutting ceremony where we were lucky enough to be joined by the Worshipful the Mayor of Cheshire East and the fabulous Len Goodman who joined our Operations Director; Simon Thompson in officially opening the new refurbishments! Guests raised a glass of bubbly in the sunshine to mark the happy occasion.

The evening continued with a ‘Last Night at the Warner Proms’ themed dinner where guests were treated to a highly entertaining Q & A session with our Warner Ambassador for Entertainment Len Goodman followed by a Best of British themed performance by the National Symphony Orchestra led by Conductor Anthony Inglis and starring Soprano Philippa Healey. This fantastic evening was rounded off with the cries of encore from our delighted guests and a confetti canon finale – an incredible end to a very memorable day for Alvaston Hall Hotel!
